BATL League Member Earns CityNews Athlete Of The Week Award

Straun Riley, a league member at our BATL Axe Throwing Pickering location, took home the Athlete of the Week honours from CityNews Toronto last week.

You can watch the segment here.

He is an accomplished axe thrower, who recently took the title at this year’s National Axe Throwing Championships hosted by BATL Axe Throwing in Toronto.  The tournament consisted of 128 of the best axe throwers in North America, and the finals were an over-the-top display of sportsmanship that won’t soon be forgotten.

If you’re looking to join in on the fun of urban axe throwing (pioneered by BATL back in 2006), then consider joining our weekly leagues. Our axe throwing leagues run for 8 weeks.  The first 7 weeks consist of a 28 game round-robin between you and your peers, and it all culminates on week 8 with a top 16 double elimination playoff with one goal:  to crown a single champion.

If you don’t know how to throw an axe, then no worries, everybody has to start somewhere – even Straun.  Each of our axe throwing leagues are run by skilled staff, who are there to help you out every bit of the way.  Be awesome.  Join a league!
