by Brian Simmons 0 comments

General Toronto

Our Toronto West location will not be offering public walk in axe throwing tomorrow, Saturday 19 August, but that doesn't mean you're out of luck if you're looking to come in for a session!  All other of the Backyard Axe Throwing League’s eight locations across Canada will be offering walk in axe throwing Saturday August 19th as usual and our Toronto West location will still be back to normal and offering a chance for you to hone your skill on Sunday August 20th. To summarize, our scheduled hours for public walk-ins this weekend include:

  • Friday 6-9pm (All locations)
  • Saturday 12-3pm (All locations except Toronto West)
  • Sunday 2-5pm (All locations)

Our walk-in sessions offer informal axe throwing to the public on a casual basis -  complete with hands-on guidance from our resident axe gurus for $19.91 plus tax per hour (per person).  Public walk-ins are equally well suited for both those who have never thrown an axe before, as well as those experienced axe throwers who are looking to brush up on their technique.  Make your weekend awesome, and plan to stop by BATL!

General Toronto

It's time to let the cat out of the bag!  The lineup for our 10th anniversary party following this year's axe throwing Summer Skills competition has been announced. The Backyard Axe Throwing League’s own Sleep Fighter (formerly Vesper Lynd) and Hamilton punk rockers Rules will be opening for none other than The Bronx.

BATL’s 10th anniversary party will follow our annual Summer Skills competition taking place on Labour Day, September 4th at our Toronto West location in Galleria Mall.  Early bird ticket pricing is now over, meaning $30 will still secure your spot to compete in Summer Skills along with a meal ticket, with entrance to the 10-year anniversary after party being an additional $20 for league members (tickets will be available to non-league members for $30 at the door if space permits).  Capacity for this intimate show is EXTREMELY LIMITED, so don't sleep on this opportunity.  This is going to be a 10th birthday party that you won't want to miss.

Texas BBQ Master goes Axe Throwing

by Brian Simmons 0 comments

General Toronto

This week the Backyard Axe Throwing League played host to Robert and Robert, two well known pit-masters from S&S BBQ in Texas.  They came upon recommendation from our friends around the corner at Cherry Street BBQ (a go-to for catering at our Toronto East location), and were given some hands-on instruction from our resident axe gurus.  These guys are already known for what they do with their hands, so needless to say, they were naturals with an axe.
Our BATL Toronto East location is our largest in downtown Toronto, and is the perfect venue for gatherings of all sizes - from small birthday gatherings or bachelor/ bachelorette parties, to large corporate team building events or charity functions.  You're welcome to bring in outside non-alcoholic drinks and food, which leaves you with endless possibilities when it comes to making your outing at BATL perfect.  Find out more about booking an event with BATL here.
