Our Team in Toronto

Meet some of our amazing staff

Nothing we do would be possible without the amazing people we have working with us.  We hire some of the most talented, fun and friendly individuals that you’ll ever have the pleasure to meet, and would love nothing more than to introduce you to each and every member of our team. Below are just a few profiles from over 200 staff and counting across all locations.  Check back each week as we add more!

If interested in available employment opportunities please contact your nearest BATL location, or see the following link for active postings.

Meet Stefan Herda, AKA Skynet - a Scarborough boy through and through. Both revered and feared, to say he is a polarizing figure around the BATL community is putting it lightly. Since joining the league in 2012, Stefan has seemingly made it his personal goal to make and subsequently break every record possible - even if some of them aren't even real. He holds the record of most consecutive bullseyes at 50 (never mind that his final 5 bullseyes were thrown with his left hand) - but if you ask him he'll probably tell you about the time he hit 69 in a row after work. He also has 18 league championships to go along with his back to back Champions League titles, and then there was the time he won a Monday night playoff by hitting a big axe clutch... Stefan approaches everything he does in life the same way - dedication, attention to detail and pride. He demands the most out of himself, and makes everyone around him better because of it. His repertoire of excellence goes well beyond axe throwing. Stefan is also a retired champion paintballer, accomplished fine artist, karaoke enthusiast (his rendition of Macy Gray's "I Try" will bring tears to your eyes), and he's got a tennis backhand that would make Andre Agassi quiver. On top of everything, Stefan is a great sport. He takes a lot of shit, but he's number one for a reason and as Omar says: "If you come at the king, you best not miss." We love you, Stefan. Never stop approaching life with wide-eyed enthusiasm. A champion adapts. 😘 #batlstaffsunday

This #BATLStaffSunday we want to say thank you to Brandon Cooling, the man, myth and legend behind our social media accounts & Floor Manager at BATL Toronto East & Toronto West for the past 5 years! "In December of 2013 I was up to my eyeballs in soot and chain link at Villiers with some close friends and I got a phone call. That call was another close friend offering to help and he reminded me that he owed me a couple bucks and thought it best that he come down right away and pay back the debt in sweat and hard work. He wouldn't take no for an answer. Shortly thereafter he walked into Villiers, said hello with a hug and got straight to work up in the rafters hanging fencing. He hasn't looked back since. 5 years after he busted his ass every morning, day and night to make sure we got Villiers open in just 10 short days, he still has my back and holds it down at BATL every single day. He works tirelessly as Floor Manager at two of BATL's downtown Toronto locations as well as keeping our social media fresh day in and day out. He is a man with fierce loyalty and a work ethic like no other. He can, and will, crush any task when given the chance and takes great pride in his work. He is a thinker, an artist, an imaginer, creator, leader and dear dear friend. I don't know if I have ever seen a person better understand the impact they can have on a moment and the power of creating memories. This man. is. thoughtful. Brandon Cooling, December 12th was the first time you let me actually pay you to work at BATL which makes this past Wednesday your 5 year anniversary. (but you already knew that 😉 ). My friend, we would not be where we are without you. That is no lie. And I would not be the person I am without you as my friend. I love you with all of my heart and wish you a happy 5 year anniversary. Thanks for all the awesome. Beers and basketball and slo-mo movies on me. Much love." - Wilson #BATL #AxeThrowing
