Staff Sunday With Shauna from Ottawa

General Ottawa

Meet Shauna. Shauna works the Backyard Axe Throwing League’s Ottawa location, slowly but surely honing her throw out in our Nation's Capital. Before joining the BATL family, Shauna was studying theatre at Bishop's while working for Vandelay Industries on the side. Now you can find her training new axe throwers when not also running our Tuesday night league.

When she doesn't have an axe in her hand you can find her spending her hard earned money on the shopping (most of the time for new superhero themed chucks) or playing video games. She's an avid collector of vintage vinyl and Nancy Drew books, a proud cat mom, and in case you were wondering she likes her Jameson straight and her beer hoppy. She might seem intimidating, but if you've ever met her, you know just how nice she *can* be. And we're happy to have her!  #batlstaffsunday

Celebrating 10 Years of Axe Throwing

by BATL 0 comments

General League

In 2006, a group of friends got together in a downtown Toronto backyard to throw axes at wooden targets.  Little did they know that they were laying the groundwork for a community that would become the BATL Family.

Flash forward to 10 years later, and the Backyard Axe Throwing League has grown to a network of 9 locations across Canada, still hosting our weekly leagues, in addition to private events that have combined to teach hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world our sport.

We can't thank everyone enough for the support, and we look forward to everything that's to come in the next 10 years and beyond at BATL!

Ontario Travel Features Axe Throwing

General

Ontario Travel has recommended the Backyard Axe Throwing League as a must visit destination for anyone travelling to Toronto from neigbouring cities, provinces, countries and beyond.  The full article can be found here.

Though BATL now has locations across Canada, it was started in a downtown Toronto backyard - and the rest is history.  We currently operate eight axe throwing facilities across Canada, with a ninth opening in November just south of Toronto, in Niagara Falls Ontario.

Our Toronto locations offer both our weekly axe throwing leagues (which started it all) and private group events - complete with coaching from our skilled staff followed by a tournament.  Our Toronto East location also offers public walk in axe throwing each Friday from 4 – 8pm, which requires no reservations.  Make your next trip to Toronto an unforgettable one!
